This marks the second time Schafer has been asked about her feelings about being a Zelda fan-cast fave. At a Euphoria red carpet event in April 2022, an Entertainment Tonight correspondent asked her how she felt about that particular fan demand.
“I mean, yeah, that’d be cool, like an elf?” she said. “And I mean, I played that video game a bunch when I was a kid, that’s such a good game.”

The live-action Legend of Zelda movie will find Nintendo teaming up with Sony for co-financing and distribution, according to IGN. It will be directed by Wes Ball, who directed the Maze Runner trilogy, and written by Derek Connolly, who co-wrote the screenplay for Pokémon Detective Pikachu and co-wrote the story for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, per Deadline.
We’re crossing our fingers for Schafer as Zelda to become a reality, but until then, the actor is hitting the big screen for the first time next Friday when The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes opens in theaters.
